CAN designed a series of collectible, limited-edition chairs created as part of Atelier 100, a hyper-local design initiative brought together by IKEA and H&M. Encapsulating the material eclecticism and circular economy of London's built environment, each unique chair unites three disparate elements salvaged directly from the city's urban fabric: fallen timber from London Plane trees downed during storms in Soho Square and Denmark Hill, industrial anodized scaffolding tubes, and iridescent 3D-printed rocks modeled from Thames foreshore rubble.

The 3D-printed components utilize high-resolution digital scans of historical debris and ancient detritus washed up on riverbanks, combining digital fabrication with reclaimed materials. By pairing temporary construction infrastructure with urban forestry and river archaeology, the furniture design reflects London's continuous cycle of demolition, adaptive reuse, and rebirth—reinterpreting raw municipal materials into sculptural, high-end interior product design.
