CAN designed a speculative infrastructure proposal for Project Heracles, an architectural ideas competition and conceptual call-to-arms exploring imaginary physical links across the Strait of Gibraltar between Spain and Morocco.

Addressing the geopolitical, cultural, and physical divide across the 14-kilometer maritime stretch separating Europe and Africa, the design project uses postcard-scale visual propositions to envision mega-scale transcontinental infrastructure and speculative urbanism.

By conceptualizing a physical connection across one of the world's most critical maritime choke points, CAN's proposal interrogates themes of border architecture, geopolitical mobility, infrastructural iconography, and cross-continental connectivity, presenting a critical counter-proposal to conventional borders through the lens of speculative architectural design.
